1. James 'the Admirable' Crichton of Cluny (b 19.08.1560, d 03.07.1582)§P§
Although he died young, killed in a duel in Italy, James became quite famous around Europe for being a polymath, paramour, swordsman, gamesplayer, etc.. His range of talents inspired the play 'The Admirable Crichton' by J.M. Barrie (who also wrote 'Peter Pan') which was later made (several times) into a film. The key character in that play & film was fictional. This James existed!
