| Unfortunately, Richard Williams (see the §W§ link at N13), does not identify Ednowain's parentage but he does confirm that Ednowain lived at Llys y Coed in Cilcain, Flintshire, and married Gwerfyl. He is described in BLG1952 ('Lloyd-Davis of Whittington'), which covers Gwerfyl's family, as "Edwyn ab Owain-bendew of Llys y Coed". It appears that he was ancestor of many families, some of which (such as the Hanmers) are reported by Williams. Some of his other descendants are shown on Tmp23. Williams suggests that Bendew means "the strong skulled". | |||||||||||||||
