1. Robert Wood or Delwood of Nether Colwick, Nottinghamshire

  A. Robert Wood of Nether Colwick and/or of Lamley, Nottinghamshire
This appears to be the Robert who is shown by Walker's Yorkshire Pedigrees as 'of Lambley & Wodoborough' and as son of Marmaduke son of Giles Wood of Swinley. As reported on Wood04, there is a clear contradiction between Walker and the 1614 Visitation used for this page. Not least because Walker shows 'the other' Robert as son of Elizabeth, dau of Nicholas Storyvell Strelly of Close, which looks like confusion of the names given above for 'this' Robert's mother and grandmother, we provisionally follow the Nottinghamshire Visitation. Walker also mentions 3 children for 'the other' Robert who are shown on Wood04 (Barney, Henry & Mary). Visitation (1663) starts with this Robert, identifies him as 'of Lamley', and reports that he had 12 children but names only his eldest son, Robert.

  m. Katherine Hewson (dau of Richard Hewson of London)
  a. John Wood of Woodborow (Woodborough) (b c1598, a 06.1663)
Walker identifies John's wife as Ann, dau of George Chaworth of Wiverton by Catherine, dau of Thomas Babington of Dethick. However, that George died in 1521. Visitation (1614) identifies her as Catherine, dau of John Chaworth of Wiverton. Visitation (1663) identifies her as ...
