However, 'HamiltonHistory' (p840) reports that this James's widow was Barbara Hamilton, mother of James, Barbara & Jean. 'HamiltonHistory' (Mylneholme (Parish of Stonehouse)', p607+), which supports most of the following, identifies Elizabeth Williamson as mother of James, Andrew, John, Nicholas & Helen but does not mention Barbara Hamilton.
