Sir William Baillie of Hoprig & Lamington (a 1357)
m. Isabella Seton (dau of Sir William Seton of Seton)
1. Sir William Baillie of Lamington
There is some confusion on the number of generations of Sir Williams.
  A. Sir William Baillie of Lamington
BLG1952 (Bailie of Manderston) shows William as father of his sons plus Margaret by Marion Seton, not mentioning his marriage to Catherine Hamilton. We provisionally follow our main source.
m1. Catherine Hamilton (dau of Sir John Hamilton, 4th of Cadzow)
  i. William Baillie of Lamington (a 1482, d by 1521)
  m. Marion Home (dau of Sir Patrick Home of Polwarth)

  (1) Sir William Baillie of Lamington
Neither this Sir William nor his son are shown by 'Lives of the Baillies' and may therefore be pure invention. However, assuming that they died without surviving legitimate male issue, it would be consistent with cross-references from TSP that they had lived ! There is some inconsistency with the dates and it is unclear why 'Lives of the Baillies' could miss out this information but it is noted here as 'working data' to be reviewed in due course.
