Francis Charlton of Apley, Sheriff of Shropshire (d 1642)
m. Mary Hill (dau of Osmary Hill of Bilmarsh)
BP1934 effectively starts with the next Francis and then jumps to his great-grandson St. John who d 1776. VCH (Shropshire, vol 11: Telford, 'Wellington: Manors and other estates') provides the successors in the intervening generations. However, VCH does not name their wives who have kindly been identified for us by a contributor (MF, 11.03.12) based on "Mrs Alice M Peel's (nee Charlton's) account in Shrops Arch Soc transactions" supplemented by his own research some of which relied on the IGI.
