Families covered: Wilson of Ashwellthorpe, Wilson Lord Berners, Wilson of Didlington, Wilson of Knight Thorpe

BLG1934 identifies the arms of the Barons Berners, quartered with those of Tyrwhitt, as "sa, a wolf salient or in chief a fleur de lis arg. between two vezants". Nichols identifies the arms of the family of Knight-Thorpe as "Or, a wolf rampant Argent; in chief a fleur de lis of the last between two bezants".

(2) Nichols (p514) identifies Robert's 1st wife Catharine Ashe as dau of Edward Ashe of London, sister of Sir Joseph Ashe, (1st) Bart (who married Mary, Robert's sister). Nichols (p907) identifies her just as dau of Edward Ashe of London and shows them as getting married in 1649.
