Visitation (Oxfordshire) ends showing Michael as father of George & Richard, both apparently alive in 1634. VCH, which supports much of the above, reports (giving the impression that it was referring to the continuation of the above family) that the manor of Wishaw was conveyed by George & Henry Pudsey in 1667 "probably in connexion (sic) with the marriage of Henry Pudsey and Jane, daughter of Francis Thornhagh". TCP ('Folliott of Ballyshannon') identifies the wife of Lord Henry Folliott as Elizabeth, dau/coheir of Henry Pudsey of Langley by Jane, dau of Francis Thornhaugh of Fenton, and adds a note to say that Elizabeth's sister, Anne ("the other coh.") m. Sir William Jessop. Lipscomb (Bucks, vol 3, 'Pedigree of Risley, of Chetwode and Barton', p3) identifies the parents of the Elizabeth & Anne as Michael, brother of George & Richard and son of George Pudsey "of Barford, Co. York." by Anne Risley. We speculate that : (a) Lipscombe was mistaken in naming the parents of Anne & Elizabeth as Michael and should have named him Henry; and that (b) Lipscombe was probably mistaken in identifying Ann Risley's husband George as "of Barford"; and that (3) the above Michael's son George (a 1634) was the husband of Anne Risley, with the following being their family. |
