Families covered: Dade of Shaddingfield, Dade of Tannington, Dade of Wytton

Visitation (Norfolk) identifies the arms of the following family, quartered with those of Paknam (sic), as "Gules, a chevon between three garbs or".
John Dade of Wytton, Norfolk
m. _ Pagenham (dau/heir of _ Pagenham (Pakenham) of Shropham)
1. Richard Dade of Wytton
  m. Ann Cobb (dau of Jeffrey Cobb of Sandringham)
  A. John Dade of Wytton
  m. Margaret (base dau of Sir Thomas Woodhouse of Saxtonsham (Waxtonsham))
  i. William Dade (eldest son) possibly the William of Witton who married ...
  m. Genevieve Van Kurnebeck (dau of Martin Van Kurnebeck by Joan Leake)
ii.+ other issue - (a 1613?) Thomas, Elizabeth, Anne, Dyonys
  B. Ellen Wade
  m. John Skytte
  C. Jane Wade
  m. Robert Scott of Norwich
2. John Dade
The following is supported by Visitation (Walter Metcalfe (1882), Suffolk, 1612, 'Dade of Shaddingfield').
m. Mary Appleyarde (dau of Sir Nicholas Appleyarde of Bracon Ashe)
  A. Richard Dade of Shaddingfield, Suffolk
  m. Katherine Knight (dau of Thomas Knight of Wymondham)
  i. John Dade of Shaddingfield
  m. Frances Cuddon (dau of Robert Cuddon of Shaddingfield)
The following is supported by CountyGen (Berry, Kent, p460) although that (wrongly) identifies William, who was Frances's sister, as her father.
  a. John Dade of Beccles, Suffolk
  m. Mary Gross (dau/heir of William Gross of Helshall)
  (1) John Dade of Sittingborne, Kent (a 1663)
  m. Mary Rose (dau/heir of Ambrose Rose of Chislet)
  b. Thomas Wade 'of Tannington'
Visitation (Suffolk, 1664-8, 'Dade of Pettistree') identifies the arms of that family as "Gules, a chevon between three garbs Or, a mullet on the chevron for difference", reports "For the earlier part of this pedigree see the Visitation of Suffolk, 1612", and starts with Thomas Dade of Tannington who married the following Anne Haselopp. Noting the dates, we presume that that Thomas is the Thomas identified by Metcalfe as the 2nd son of this generation. HOWEVER, the fact that the Thomas below apparently married (at least) twice makes it possible that they were the same person. Provisionally, we show them as different people but hope to investigate this further in due course.
  m. Anne Haselopp of Cambridgeshire
  (1) Thomas Dade of Petistry (Pettistree), Suffolk (a 1664)
m1. Elizabeth Flick (dau of Thomas Flick of Creating)
  (A) Elizabeth Wade (a 1664)
m2. Anne Stebbing (dau of Robert Stebbing of Monuden)
  c. Francis Wade
  ii. Mary Wade
  m. John Booty of Fornsett
B.+ other issue - John (dsp), May, Elizabeth, Margaret
3. William Dade
Visitation (Norfolk) indicates that William, as well as his brother John, had issue reported in Visitation (Suffolk). Visitation (Suffolk, 1664-8, 'Dade of Tannington'), which shows arms for that family which appear to be the same as those described for Dade of Pettistree (see above), starts with the following Thomas and (also) reports that "For the earlier part of this pedigree see the Visitation of Suffolk, 1612". We suspect that the following Thomas was probably of the next generation and, noting that is speculative, presume to show him as William's son. HOWEVER, note the possibility that the following Thomas may have been the same personas the Thomas shown above as 'of Tannington' and that he married both Anne Cornwallis and Anne Haselopp. Although we show these Thomases as of different generations, we accept that we might have been misled by the number of generations involved.
A. Thomas Dade of Tannington, Suffolk
m1/2. Anne Cornwallis (dau of Richard Cornwallis of Shotley)
