The following is supported by CountyGen (Kent, Berry, p371), Visitation (Kent, 1619, 'Skeffington') and 'The Skeffingtons of Tunbridge' by Robert Chapman (found online under 'Archaelogia Cantiana, vol 10, 1876, p39+) with thanks to a contributor (CV, 13.04.16) for drawing our attention to that last volume. Chapman suggests that this was the John who b 1574, d 12.1645. Provisionally we support Berry, who inserts an additional generation, as that appears to be supported by Visitation which shows his eldest son John as aged 15 in 1619. Also, Chapman (p44) reports that William, a younger son (the youngest?), was aged 8 when his father John died.
