| We are presently following TSP's report that Alan of Ruthven was son of Sweyn of Crawford. However, we have received advice from a contributor that Alan of Ruthven's father was called Walter and that Sweyn was Alan's father-in-law. We show here (for the moment, but hope to obtain clarification of the position in due course) that Alan married twice and that his children reported below were all by Cecily de Maule, as reported by TSP. Please note that in due course we will have to remove from this page (at least) one of the references to Sweyn of Crawford - he was surely not both Alan's father and his father-in-law. | |||||||||||||||
