(1) BEB1841 identifies the following family's coat of arms as "Az. on a fesse between three swan's heads erased and ducally gorged or, as many cinquefoils gu." However, the picture shown of the arms omits the fesse and cinquefoils which were probably added as differences. (2) BEB1841 reports that "The family of Baker was settled at Cranbrooke, in Kent, so early as the reign of Edward III" (who r. 1327-1377). The first few generations are partly supported by HoP ('John Baker' and connections). |
