PCBG note on The 2017 Review
This review was undergone because of an initial lead into the family which just spread & spread after I had found Alexander Mackenzie's impressive work (in 1898) on 'History of the Munros of Fowlis with Genealogies of the Principal Families of the Name' on archive.org. Whilst I don't doubt that there are a few errors in that book and whilst there are probably other sources which have undertaken even more thorough research into specific branches of the family, this must surely be the 'definitive work' on the greater family. Arguably, this exercise was not a 'review' but just a trawl through the book.
