BLG1863 reports that the following family branched from the Tippings of Tipping Hall "about the commencement of the sixteenth century" and then notes that the following Richard was recorded in the Preston corporation rolls about 1500. Accordingly, we presume that he was a son or grandson of a Tipping of Tipping Hall.
