| Much of the following section was first launched on 07.04.10 as a section of a Temporary page. It was moved here after review with HoP & Wikipedia led it to be redone. The section was originally based on BLG1871 ('Wordsworth of Sockbridge') which reported that Mary, wife of Richard Wordsworth, was dau of John of Appleby Common and sister of the John (Secretary of the Treasury) who was father of Countess Mary. However, the dates indicate that Mary was a generation earlier than John. Wikipedia confirms that Richard Wordsworth of Sockbridge was husband of John (MP)'s aunt. | |||||||||||||||

| 3. | ?? Robinson | ||||||||||||||
| BP1934 ('Smith-Gordon') reports that the undermentioned Elizabeth Smith m. John Robinson of Wyke House and was the mother of Countess Mary. However, neither HoP nor Wikipedia suggest that that John married anyone other than Mary Crowe. Nevertheless, the dates indicate that Elizabeth and her husband were of the same generation as John the MP and her mother is identified as of the same generation as the father of John the MP. We speculate that Elizabeth's husband was a cousin of John the MP. | |||||||||||||||
