Griffith Kent of Southwark (b in Sunning, Berkshire)
m. ?? (granddau of Lord Forbes of Scotland, widow of John Shorter of Staines) ## see here ##
The above link goes to the Shorter page where the wife of John Shorter of Staines is identified as Susan, dau of 'Richard Forbis alias Forbanch of Send'. If Griffith's wife was indeed that Susan then that would indicate that Richard was either a son or a son-in-law of a Lord Forbes. Noting that Susan had a son (by John Shorter) born c1606, Susan was probably born in the 1580s which suggests that, if this (possibly illegitimate) connection to the noble Forbes family is true, then her grandfather was probably either the 7th or the 8th Lord.
