The following comes from Maddison's Lincolnshire Pedigrees (1903-6, Franke of Grimsby) which does not show the mother of Alianore and her sister and identifies those ladies as coheirs even though the Essex Visitation shows that Sir William was succeeded by his son, the 2nd Sir William. We suppose that this supports the view that the elder Sir William married twice. Maddison's Lincolnshire Pedigrees (Barnardiston) identifies Joanna's mother as dau/heir of Sir Marmaduke Tunstall.
