In a note on various members of the family, MGH reports that the family name is registered as "Dupee" and adds "The name, in its varying forms of Dupuis, Dupuy, Depuy, Depee, etc., occurs frequently in many Registers which the Compiler has had occasion to consult. It may also, possibly, have been Anglicized into Wells."
