  (1) Alexander Sinclair of Sixpenny
  Henderson (p39) reports that of Alexander "there is little further noteice, unless he is the same person as Alexander Sinclair of Sixpenny." The following assumes that he was. It comes from 'The Sinclairs of Achingale and Newton' within 'Caithness Family History' (John Henderson, 1884, p142+) which starts with Alexander, father of William 1st of Achingale & Newton, but states "Of what Alexander Sinclair was in somewhat uncertain. He has been supposed to have been of the Sinclairs of Dun, but it is more probable that he was of the Sinclairs of Assery and Lybster, and that he was a son of William Sinclair of Hoy, whose eldest son was named Alexander, and of whom there is, otherwise, no particular account."
