| In BLG1858 ('Rothwell of Rockfield'), the following family shows a coat of arms that suggests that it was connected to the above family (whose arms were granted to it in 1585). However, BLG1858 reports that "The famiy of Rothwell is presumed to have been of Dutch extraction. Some branches are settled in England: the ancestor of the Meath Rothwells accompanied William III to Ireland" (presumably c1688). | |||||||||||||||
