Families covered: Muskett of Brisingham, Muskett of Clipsby (Clippesby), Muskett in/of Haughley, Muskett of Intwood
| (1) This upper section was first launched on 10.09.20 as a section of a Temporary page. It was moved here after review led to acceptance that there was little chance of our making a significant improvement to it in the near future (although we retain hopes that we will find later generations at some stage) and that it was 'good enough' to be promoted into the main database.
(2) Commoners, used for the lower section below, reports that "This family resided and possessed lands in the parish of Haughleigh, in Suffolk, in the reigns of Henry VII, Edward VI and Elizabeth and a branch contined there until the year 1774." (3) Visitation identifies the arms of this family as "Argent two bars between six leopards' faces, three, two, and one Gules". Visitation spells the family name as Musket. We follow 'Evidences' in spelling the name with 2 Ts. |
