(1) Commoners reports that the following family was "Established in England during the reign of Henry VIII" (who r. 1509-1547) and were "undoubtedly allied to the celebrated Reformer".
(2) Of the Luthers of Myles's, the first mentioned by Commoners is Richard but Bysshe starts with his father, Thomas, showing him as 'of Stapleford Torr'. Howard, the editor of the 1888 report on Bysshe's Visitation, adds a note to confirm that "This Thomas Luther was of Kevedon and not of Stapleford Torr". It is not known if the 2 Luther families shown below were connected by blood but it seems likely. As shown below, it appears that there was at least one marriage-connection between them.
