Families covered: Frescheville of Crich, Frescheville (Frecheville) of Palterton, Frescheville of Staveley

We first based this page on Visitation which spells the family name as Frescheville. On 15.03.11 we reviewed the page using CTG which spells the name Frecheville. We are now inconsistent with the way that we spell the name.
Ralph de Frescheville (a 1200, judge)
1. Ankerus de Freschville (d 1218-9)
  m. Juliana (dau/heir of Hubert FitzRalph of Criche)
CTG starts with Ankerus (and Juliana), his father coming come from Visitation. BE1883 starts with the following Ralph, identifying him as the heir of Hubert FitzRalph (d c1225) of Cryche, Derbyshire.
  A. Ralph de Frescheville (d 1260-1)

  m. Nicholas Keeton
  (2) Sir Ankerus Freschville of Criche & Staveley (d 30.01.1390-1)
Visitation shows Ankerus as son rather than brother of Ralph whilst BE1883 (Frescheville of Staveley) reports that Ralph, son of Ralph son of Ankere, was ancestor of the Sir Peter of Staveley, shown on the continuation as ancestor of Baron Frescheville of Staveley. Provisionally we follow CMG which shows Ankerus as of this generation.
m1. Margaret Monboucher (dau of Sir George Monboucher)
  (A) Sir Ralph Freschville of Staveley (b c1350, d c1417)
  m. Johanna
  (B) Isabel Frecheville
m2. Agnes (dau/heir of Amflesia (wife of John de Glapton) & relict of William Favell)
  (C) Thomas Frecheville
  (D) Gervase Frecheville or Freschville
Visitation shows Gervase as son rather than half-brother of Sir Ralph. Again we follow CMG, presuming that Visitation has confused 'succeeded by' with 'father of'.
