HoP reports of the undermentioned Sir George that his "ancestors had held the manor of Thwaite since the reign of Edward VI" (who r. 1547-1553). We speculate that this family was connected to the family of Bury St. Edmunds which is reported in Visitation (Walter Metcalfe (1882), Suffolk, 1561 & 1612, 'Reeve of Bury St. Edmunds') but have not seen any evidence to confirm that.
