Families covered: Walsh of Ballykilcavan, Walsh of Carrickmain, Walsh of Castledermot, Walsh of Clonmel, Walsh of Dublin

Except that they probably had a common root in Wales (see Walsh01), we do not know of any connection between the following families which are shown together on one page for convenience purposes only.
Theobald Walsh, lord of Carrickmain, co. Dublin (b c1485)
1. William Walsh of Carrickmain (b c1500)
  m. ?? Fitztwilliams (dau of Sir William Fitzwilliams of Milton (not Merryon), Lord Deputy of Ireland)
BIFR1976 identifies William's father-in-law as Sir William Fitzwilliams of Merryon, Lord Deputy of Ireland in 1588, but this is clearly a confusion with Sir William Fitzwilliams of Milton (1526-1599), ord Deputy of Ireland in 1588. However, we are suspicious of this given that BIFR1976 indicates that William was about 26 years older than his father-in-law whilst at least one of that Sir William's son-in-laws lived to 1625.
