  The only significant information we have found on Sir Richard comes from BHO ('The History and Topographical Survey of the county of Kent', vol 2, 1797, 'Parishes: Orpington') which reports that Sir Richard was of Leicester, became Sheriff of London, and possessed the manor of Little Orpington through his 1st wife, Susannah who had m1. George Lake of Sevenoke and was niece of William Quilter of London & Little Orpington, Sheriff of Kent.
