Families covered: Granvile of Bideford, Grenvile of Kilkhampton, Grenvile of Stow, Grenfell of Taplow

(1) The family name has had many variations (including Graynville & Greinville). We use Granvile for the page title because that is the spelling used in BLG1886/1952 by the descendants shown on the continuation page at Granville02. However, it appears that 'Grenvile' was the more common version of the name in early times.
(2) This page was originally built on data obtained from various web sites which, whilst sometimes being quite impressive, did not identify their sources in a convincing manner. The page was redone on 07.01.09 to accommodate information found in Visitation (Cornwall, 1620, Grenvlle). On 06.04.12 it was redone again using Vivian's work though our earlier work left us concerned that there are uncertainties regarding some of the Visitation data used by Vivian. The data below which is shown in italics comes from various web sites.
