Main source(s): Paper presented to The Glasgow Archaeological Society on 20th January 1887 by James Grahame, entitled "The Grahams of Wallacetown, Knockdolian, Grugar, Auchenhowie, Auchencloich, Tamrawer, Dougalston, Kilmanan, and Kilmardinny." with some input & support from BLG1886 (Graham-Campbell of Shirvan), BLG1952 (Graham-Campbell of Shirvan and Stronachullin)
[In his paper, James Grahame reported the descent of the Grahams of Dougalston from Walter Graham of Wallacetown. According to "The Grahams of Auchenloish and Tamrawer", by John St.John Graham, published in 1952, James Grahame confused the Grahams of Auchencloich (in Lennox) with the Grahams of Auchencloich (in Kilsyth). John St.John Graham reported that part of the confusion probably arose because in the 16th century "there were successively a Gilbert, John and Robert in possession of each estate, who were contemporaries of each other". Whether or not James Grahame made mistaken references to Auchencloich and Tamrawer is being treated as not relevant to this Family List. His report on the descent noted above is accepted because cross-references from the families of the spouses support the information given.]
