2. Nicholas Bristow of Ayot St. Lawrence & Little Bibbesworth (b 1494, bur 20.07.1584, Clerk of the Jewels)
  Visitation (Essex, 1634, 'Bristow') provides the above but does not follow Nicholas's line, showing him as having issue by a dau of Sir John Boteler. BLG1862 suggests that that was wrong, indicating that it was Nicholas's son Nicholas who married a dau of Sir John Boteler with this Nicholas being married to a dau of Robert Barlye. That appears to be supported by 'Wilts' which starts with this Nicholas and identifies his wife (and mother of the Nicholas who married a Boteler) as ...
