(1) The Harleian editor records the following which looks as though it was written by the original Visitation herald: "This Pettegree & Armes was sett fforth by Sankey & therffore no Creddit to be given therto." In other words, the following should not be taken seriously. Having found only one rather loose connection between this pedigree and the rest of the database, we nearly did not include it at all but in the end decided to do so in the hope that we manage to find a connection to it from one or both of the families shown lower down the page. (2) The arms of this family, ignoring the quarterings, are described as " Gules, a chevron between three eagles argent". See Snelling2. |
