(1) Visitation spells the family name as 'Aslakeby' throughout within the pedigree but in the notes uses 'Aislaby' or 'Aslaby'. Cross-references from elsewhere in the database use Aislaby or Aislabie. VCH uses 'Aislaby'. Provisionally we use 'Aislabie' for the page title but may change this in due course. (2) The relevant section within VCH reports that a coheiress of the Barden family married an Aislaby and then mentions Richard Aislaby. We presume that the Barden heiress was Richard's mother. |
