| Although it seems very likely that the following family is connected to the one above, we do not know exactly how that connection arose. In Visitation (Dugdale, Yorkshire, 1665, Westby of Ravenfield), Dugdale shows Robert above (younger son of Ralph of Ravenfield who was alive in 1585) as father of Francis, George of Elmeton & John and shows George of Elmeton as father of George (d 1640, m. Agneta Hawley), Henry, Joane (m1. _ Smale, m2. Stephen Bright), Dorothy (m. _ Smale), Anne (m. _ Hobson) & Elizabeth (m. _ Wilson). FMG mentions this and notes that Dugdale "instead of making Francis Borough mother of Tho. & Geo. makes their mother Agnes, dau of .... Hawley of Stotford, which cannot be" (our emphasis). FMG starts with the following Christhoper (possibly the same person as the Ralph shown above as father pf Ralph (dsp) & Robert ???). | |||||||||||||||
