Nichols starts his pedigree of the following family with John but notes that was eldest son of the following Robert "in whose family a considerable landed estate at Knighton, also in (Leicestershire), hath lineally descended, from the region of king Henry IV, to the present time. They also possessed some propery at Ibston on the Hill in this county, where some of them are buried."
