BP1934 reports that the following family as a branch of an old Scottish family that was settled near Dunse, Berwickshire. 'Herald & Genealogist' (vol 5, 1870, edited by J.G. Nichols, 'Currie of Bush-Hill', p175+ in the 'Doubtful Pedigrees' section) reports that that family had settled at Dunse in 1571, being "derived from Cuthbert Currie a cadet of the family of that ilk in Annandale, Dumfriesshire".
