Stuck!

Unfortunately, it is possible for some visitors to this site to get stuck in this site inasmuch as they cannot use their browser's back arrow to return to pages visited before entering this site. We are sorry if this has happened to you. Fortunately, there is a solution (given below).

This problem should only affect people who are using Internet Explorer as their browser. [People who use another type of browser should be able to use their browser's back arrow without problems.] This has not been arranged intentionally but is a consequence of a weakness of Internet Explorer which does not deal properly with the type of programming we use to display this Families Database. We understand that Microsoft have promised to deal with this (in due course) but, until they do, there is nothing we can do about it other than make major changes to our site which, sadly, we cannot afford to do.

This problem is reported on our Troubleshooting page (Q9) which includes the following advice:
- To move to another part of the site, just click on one of the links at the top or the bottom of the page.
- To move to another site, simply enter its URL (Internet address) in your browser's address field or click on a Favourite/Bookmarked link.
- If you entered our database through a Google Search (or similar) and want to go back to the results page of that search then use your browser's History facility (which is probably next to the Favourites/Bookmarks facility).
